Which showbiz talkshow made more money yesterday afternoon? Channel 7's Showbiz Central or Channel 2's The Buzz? Not that it mattered though, because either way, the Gutierrez' family ended up as the top gainer (Kaching! Kaching!). Ruffa Gutierrez' mother Annabelle Rama was being interviewed by Pia Guanio on Showbiz Central while Ruffa herself was being interviewed by Boy Abunda on The Buzz. Both were on air at the same time talking about Ruffa's decision to annul her marriage to Yilmaz Bektas. My sister-in-law and I were channel surfing from GMA to ABS-CBN and vice versa.
For those who missed the shows, Annabelle's interview was more entertaining and revealing. We kept our ears glued to the tube waiting for the real reason why Ruffa wants to leave Yilmaz. On the Buzz, Ruffa stood by her "cultural" differences reason and refused to say more. While on the other channel, Annabelle at first said that only she and Ruffa know the real reason and that she will keep it between the two of them. But later on, with a very insistent Pia's line of questioning, she said something like Yilmaz is a good man, except when he gets angry. What's that supposed to mean?
Other revelations include a letter/official statement from Yilmaz which said that a very "materialistic" relative of Ruffa is responsible for destroying their marriage. Annabelle immediately said that Yilmaz must be referring to her. She admitted that she's materialistic, but not all the time. One can't help but admire her for her frankness and honesty.
Toward the end of the interview, Pia asked Annabelle to give a message to Ruffa. And Annabelle goes…
"Ang message ko kay Ruffa (My message to Ruffa)…" boooooohooooooohoooooooo…
"…na kung ayaw nya akong mamatay (If she doesn't want me to die)…" boooooohoooooooohoooooooo….
"…ay huwag na siya bumalik sa Istanbul (she should not go back to Istanbul)" booooooohoooooohoooooo….
Is their situation really that bad or are they just over-acting? Let's see which network bags an exclusive interview with Yilmaz. ABANGAN ANG SUSUNOD NA KABANATA!!!! (wait for the next chapter).
