Joey de Venecia at ZTE Senate Hearing
September 19, 2007 by eee
Joey de Venecia faced the Senate Tuesday, (September 18,2007) to help shed light on the anomalies of the national broadband network project undertaken by the Philipppine government and ZTE Corp. For those who don't know, this project was superbly overpriced by over $200million. During previous press releases, COMELEC Chairman Ben Abalos had been pointed as the man pushing for the deal and was asking Joey's Amsterdam Holdings to give way to ZTE. Finally, the Senate invited several resource persons, including Philippine Star columnist Jarius Bondoc, Ramon Sales, Rolex Suplico, cabinet secretaries like Secretary Mendoza, Favila and Neri, Chairman Yu Yong of ZTE, to show up for the hearing today.
When Joey named First Gentleman Mike Arroyo as the mystery man who told him to "back off" from the project, the phisix went down. All economic/financial indicators like the peso exchange rate also went down. Will we go through another round of political instability? Will this the be end of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo? So far, she has not been directly implicated by any of the statements given by Joey de Venecia. But her presence at the contract signing in China shows some suspicious connection.
By the way, FGMA left the country last night. I think he did that during the Jose Pidal / Victoria Toh scandal too, right? We should ask Father Suarez to perform another miracle and ask FGMA to come back and tell the truth!!! Father Suarez is a healing priest who had miraculously saved FGMA during his life and death ordeal last time.
