Hatton is said to be worth £12 million (855,688,420 pesos), but there is little of conspicuous consumption around him. ‘I have a nice house – but not mega-flash – nice cars, I have a box at Manchester City. Away from the gym. I go out for a pint, I play darts for the local pub team, I spend time with my son, that’s the most important thing.’
Ricky Hatton is set to earn £25 million (1,782,684,209 that’s 1.7 billion pesos) from his two fights against Paulie Malignaggi and Manny Pacquiao, and will then retire.
He has bought a holiday home in Tenerife and a yellow three-wheeled Reliant Regal van driven by Del Boy and Rodney in Only Fools and Horses. ‘I’ve got it in my back garden. I tootle around in it from time to time. I’ve got a bit of a daft streak.’
