CNNFN reports that the gains that brought Dow well above 10k were broad-based, with all but 1 of the 30 components in the blue-chip index closing higher. Financial and commodity-related shares led the advance.
Local value turnover swells to the 5 billion mark but all thanks to PX's 1.3 billion worth traded. Which without this trade brings us back to the usual 3.8B worth for the market in general. Nonetheless, PX's 2.25 continued rise to 18 was worth 19 psei points for the market. This index leader was joined only by MER's 13 peso rise to 210 worth 15 psei points, all on 58m nfb.
The banking sector was mixed in terms of net foreign participation, with BPI MBT NFB by 52m, 26m each, while BDO had 25m nfs. All three banking leaders rose nonetheless to 48, 44, and 36 respectively.
Action on the property sector seems shakey and connotes a sell on rally, as the big caps AC 112M, AGI 78M, ALI 40m, were all net foreign selling.
Only 4 index stocks lost ground today: ABS JGS GLO AC 285.
Overall top gainers with volume include PX, NI 6.50, CYBR .59, OM .0095, FAF .68, COL 11.50, GEO .89, MIC 4.15,
Still battered down was MPI 2.60, other losers include: AR .0048, UPM .009, ANI 25.5, MED .53, MAB .023, AJO .0575.
Those fyap shares lc/b ma/b rallied three or four fluctuations but closed at the lows of the day.
