US GDP data fell slightly short of expectations, but housing data surprised to the upside showing better home sales data compared to the past 3 years. This fuels the sustained attack near 10,400 again for the djia.
The PSEi traded flat for the most part of the day, only turning green at the last few minutes. This was largely due to SM's 7.50 gain to 322. This window dressing feat was worth 2.55 psei points, and done on 98m nfb.
Next top gainer was MER at 198, but FPH sank to 46 due to Daiwa's relatively heavy selling.
Top most active was AEV's 934M Peso value turnover, 925M of which were crosses.
Only 6 index stocks lost: FPH FGEN 9.8 (now below adjusted rights price of 10), LC MEG ICT SMPH.
WEB ISM gets suspended for one hour, on news that they will jointly acquire a foreign media company, acentic gmbh, worth 1.2B pesos. ISM's rally on opening was deflated, but WEB kept pushing on about 2 pesos to close at 18.50.
Acentic GmbH develops, produces, and supplies digital interactive TV systems for the hotel industry in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Its technology enables hotels to provide their guests with individual services, such as on-screen messaging, on-screen bill payment, and general Internet access. The company was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Cologne, Germany. Acentic GmbH has subsidiary locations in Austria, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
AJO continues to decline to .043 as huge holders continue to dump on the notion that the restructuring deal, when implemented, will lead common share holders absorbing the balance sheet sweep.
