Completed another cycle today...but I hope there is still continuation this time as I was not able to sell.

AEV's price tanked to P39.00 at the very last minute of trade yesterday after hitting an intraday high of P40.85.Missing the P41.00 boat last Monday took away some 3 full tanks of free gas.Again, it reminded me of two lessons in stock market trading... be alert all the time...and don't be greedy.

Hoping to catch the next trip anew...

AEV closed at P41.20 today...finally breaking its long time P41 resistance. Am looking forward to a continuation tomorrow to get confirmation of its graduation to a higher range.

For many days now, AEV is strutting up and down over a very tight range. You will not hit your stop loss ...neither do you get an opportunity to make trading money. I think this is where one just waits for a big movement to occur...a big up or a big down.

Looks like am the only one writing in this thread lately. Nonetheless, let me share some thoughts that may be of interest to dividend lovers out there.

Last Friday's closing price of P41.60 presented an exit with a reasonable profit for me. However, I did not unload. For checking last year's dividend payout and date, data showed that AEV declared 1.58/share dividend with payment date of around April 15.

Assuming a similar dividend rate and payout date this year, holding on to the shares for the next 87 days will realize an effective yield of +17.92% per annum, net of 10% dividend tax, and reckoned from last Friday to April 15. This, of course, assumes that the stock can keep its current price that I am confident it would ...if not improve on.

I held on to the shares as the computed yield more than surpasses the return on my fixed interest income portfolio. This thinking however does not apply to the more daring who believe they will get the most optimal returns by purely investing in equities.

Mr UnionBanker - AEV does not provide the excitement but gets the tasks done. It is more for investors rather than tsupiteros. I agree with you about the big movement scenario. The longer the quiet consolidation in a tight range, the more violent is the breakout. Please do keep sharing your thoughts. Lots of shy lurkers here hehehe.

Am glad the big movement was a positive one that came in the form of a +2.84% increase in price yesterday. With dividend declaration time just around the corner, am confident AEV will be an active participant in the current market rally. Looking forward for it to challenge its previous high at 47.
